Blue Ice

It would be impossible to write about food in Italia without mentioning gelato. Gelato is similar to ice cream except it contains eggs and has a more chewy consistency. I often go for a classic Ciocollato gelato but flavors range anywhere from nutella to strawberry.

There is a delicious gelateria in Campo Di Fiori called Blue Ice. It has gelato for 3 euros. They also make delicious crepes. You can get any filling you want; it is a fixed price at 4 euros. I always go for Nutella, plain, simple and scrumptious.

  1. Amy, the gelato in that picture looks so delicious! Before going to Rome i always preferred ice cream to American gelato but after going to Blue Ice that changed. When i went i fell in love with the Nutella gelato it was sooo good! I'm very jealous you can have gelato all the time in Rome! Happy eating!

  2. I agree the gelato looks great. Being in Italy, I really can't get enough of the gelato. I try to go to different places to try as many as I can. I found a place called Tony's Gelato and its my favorite so far. I heard that a lot of gelato places in Italy actually aren't good to go to. Someone told me that when the gelato is really brightly colored or is piled really high it probably isn't fresh and has chemicals in it. I thought that was really interesting!
